Second, it is a bring-your-own scene. The bandshell next to Margaritaville hosts live music Wednesday through Sunday 7–10 PM, guests bring their own drinks, and walking with a drink along the Broadwalk is permitted. The city's Star-Spangled 4th of July Celebration on Hollywood Beach marks America's 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, with a 7 PM official welcome by Mayor Levy and the City Commission, live music at the bandshell from 7:30 to 9 PM, and an offshore fireworks display at 9 PM at the Hollywood Beach Theater and Plaza. The Star Spangled Spectacular sets up near Charnow Park with an offshore aerial fireworks display.
The practical read for a resident: Charnow Park's children's water playground makes the family-with-strollers logistics easier from the north, and the offshore staging means the entire Broadwalk between Charnow and the bandshell functions as viewing area. - Milieu Cafe, at 2044 Harrison St. in Downtown Hollywood. A new brunch spot decked out in orange and navy blue is popping up in Downtown Hollywood this year after months of anticipation, with an opening expected by Spring 2026. If it opens on the later end of that window, it will land right in the middle of your summer weekend rotation.
- Keke's Breakfast Cafe, at 5201 Sheridan St. The location is targeting mid-July, with the team aiming for July 16, though construction and permitting may shift the exact date. That is a west-of-the-Intracoastal option for the pre-beach breakfast crowd that currently has to choose between the Broadwalk cafes and driving to Dania.
The standing cast, and what each is actually for
The list of restaurants directly on the Broadwalk is long and easy to confuse. The distinctions matter if you live here.
- Ocean Alley Restaurant, at 900 N. Broadwalk at Indiana Avenue. Established, on the Broadwalk a short block from Margaritaville, with a focus on seafood and breakfast. The breakfast angle is the local's angle.
- Nick's, the late-night default. Open from 7 AM until 4 AM every day, specializing in seafood and Italian-American dishes, with an extensive appetizer list, raw bar, burgers, sandwiches, and entrees including stuffed lobster. If a show at the theater ends at 9 and you want to keep going, this is the answer that stays open longest.
- Toucan's Oceanside Bar & Grill, at 500 N. Broadwalk. Known for a large array of appetizers, fried pickles, sandwiches, wraps, quesadillas, burgers, daily specials, plus seafood, steaks, and ribs.
- Mamacita's Mexican Bar & Grill, at 591 N. Broadwalk. A Mexican-Cuban bar and grill featuring the Chicago-style jibarito sandwich using fried plantains instead of bread, in chicken or steak, along with Mexican soups, burritos, quesadillas, and Cuban sandwiches and pork dishes, open for breakfast.
- Hollywood Grille, at 905 N. Broadwalk at Indiana Avenue. A Greek-style restaurant featuring salads, kabobs, ground beef, veal, lamb, and seafood.
- 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar and Grill, inside Margaritaville. Located inside the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort, with live music and daily sunset rituals. The reason to go is proximity to the bandshell, not the menu.
Choosing among them is really a question of which end of the Broadwalk you already are on when you get hungry. That is a very different mental model than a visitor's, and it is the one worth writing down for yourself.
Getting There Without The Parking Fight
One piece of city infrastructure that quietly changes the summer math: the Hollywood Sun Shuttle is available to take you around the barrier island and to and from the beach to Downtown Hollywood, at $1 per person per ride on demand.
